Terms of Service

Last updated: April 7, 2026

Agreement

By subscribing to Open Security's services, you agree to these terms. Open Security is operated by Alex Chamberlain, based in the Netherlands. If something here doesn't make sense, just ask — I'd rather explain it than hide behind legalese.

Services

Open Security provides cybersecurity monitoring and management services, including:

  • 24/7 security monitoring and alerting via Wazuh SIEM
  • Vulnerability scanning and reporting
  • Endpoint management via Tactical RMM
  • Security dashboards and reporting via Grafana
  • Incident detection and notification

Pricing & Billing

I offer three self-service subscription tiers, plus two custom-quoted options for larger or more specific needs. All subscription plans include 10 endpoints, with additional endpoints at a per-device rate:

Monitor — €199/month

24/7 SIEM monitoring, vulnerability scanning, NIS2 compliance reporting, file integrity monitoring. 10 endpoints included, +€9/endpoint above 10.

Protect — €449/month

Everything in Monitor plus patch management, hardening, asset inventory, and endpoint protection. 10 endpoints included, +€17/endpoint above 10.

Managed — from €899/month

Everything in Protect plus dedicated support, incident response, and security hardening. 10 endpoints included, +€29/endpoint above 10.

Enterprise — custom quote

Full IT and security management, dedicated capacity, and a Service Level agreed per client. Scope and pricing agreed individually per contract.

Custom — custom quote

A security layer alongside your existing IT provider: penetration testing, audits, monitoring, and hardening. Scope and pricing agreed individually per contract.

Monitor, Protect, and Managed subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. Enterprise and Custom engagements are invoiced directly per the agreed contract. Prices are in euros and exclude VAT where applicable.

Subscription & Cancellation

All plans are month-to-month. You can cancel anytime — no long-term contracts, no cancellation fees. When you cancel, your service continues until the end of the current billing period. After that, monitoring agents will be removed and access to dashboards will be revoked.

Service Level

I operate as a solo cybersecurity specialist. Monitoring itself is automated and runs around the clock. For Monitor and Protect, human response is best-effort with no fixed response-time guarantee. For plans and clients with an assigned Service Level (Bronze, Silver, or Gold, as described on the pricing page), that target response time is the commitment for that engagement. As a one-person operation, I'll do everything reasonable to meet it, and I'll communicate proactively if something outside my control affects it. Still, this remains one person, not a 24/7 SOC with a team on standby.

Your Responsibilities

For me to do my job properly, you agree to:

  • Provide the access I need to monitor and manage your systems
  • Keep the monitoring agents (Wazuh, Tactical RMM) installed and running on agreed endpoints
  • Notify me of significant infrastructure changes that could affect monitoring
  • Not interfere with or disable security tools without prior discussion
  • Maintain current and accurate billing information

Limitation of Liability

Security monitoring significantly reduces risk, but no security solution can guarantee 100% protection. Open Security provides detection, alerting, and management services — not insurance against breaches. I am not liable for:

  • Damages resulting from security incidents, even if detected by the monitoring system
  • Data loss, business interruption, or consequential damages
  • Issues caused by your failure to act on alerts or recommendations
  • Third-party vulnerabilities or zero-day exploits

Total liability is limited to the fees paid for the service in the preceding three months.

Confidentiality

I treat all client data and security information as strictly confidential. I won't disclose your security posture, vulnerabilities, or any other sensitive information to third parties unless required by law or with your explicit consent.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of the Netherlands.

Changes to These Terms

I may update these terms from time to time. If I make significant changes, I'll let you know via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
